To the Editor. —Juvenile dermatomyositis (JDMS) is an inflammatory myopathy characterized by a classic heliotrope rash, proximal muscle weakness, and elevated muscle enzyme levels. Autoimmunity, both humoral and cellular, is implicated in the pathogenesis.
