Sweet, sweeter, sweetest! This cover picture shows the possibility of a semiconductor-based field-effect transistor (FET) biosensor for the highly sensitive detection of various saccharides by coating phenylboronic acid (PBA) on the gate sensing surface. We are required to enhance the selectivity of each saccharide detection, but this problem is solved by improving the signal transduction bio/device interface for each saccharid. The PBA-based FET platform will be useful for the convenient and highly sensitive detection of various saccharides in the fields of food engineering and medicine.
