The article discusses the study that determined immunomodulatory effects of sRANKL released from Paget cells on monocyte-derived CD163+CD2016+Arg1+receptor of activated nuclear factor kappa (RANK)+M2 macrophages. It discusses RANK+K M2 macrophages' role in ligand RANKL-bearing tumors. Findings discussed include potential of RANKL/M2 macrophages promoting tumor progression in direct and indirect pathways in RANKL+tumors.
