A 30-year AGU member is teaming up with an Emmy-award-winning television journalist to research how the news media cover science.
Charles Richard “Rick” Chappell, associate director for science at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, and Jim Hartz, producer and host of the Public Broadcasting Service's science series “Innovation,” have received fellowships from The Freedom Forum to complete a joint science-media project. The pair are charged with examining the media's reporting on space, science, and technology.
