We define the notion of homological units and study their invariance properties. Some applications are given to the categorical study Hodge numbers. In particular, we prove that ifandare derived equivalent smooth projective varieties of dimensionhaving the same, then they have the same Hodge numbers. We finally give a geometric interpretation of the conjectural invariance of homological units in terms of derived Jacobians.
