Rats were given pentamidine isothionate either intramuscularly or by aerosol. The injected group had high concentrations of the drug in kidneys and livers, with much lower concentrations in the lungs. The aerosol group had comparatively high concentrations of pentamidine in the lungs, whereas the concentrations in the kidneys and livers were approximately one half those of the injected groups.
