Simulated rainfall experiments with 3 loessial soils of Ansai, Suide, Yangling, and Yangling arable soil were conducted to evaluate effects of rainfall and soil structure on raindrop splash. The results showed that exponential formula were the best function to describe the relationship between rainfall and splash amount. Raindrop splash erosivity was defined as the product of kinetic energy of rainfall and median diameter of raindrops (Ed 50 ), which was linearly related to the splash amount. Since Ed 50 demonstrated the raindrop splash potential, it may be an important parameter in raindrop erosion erosivity. The total of splash amount increased with the increase of rainfall duration, however, averaged splash production per square meter per minute decreased with the duration of raining time. The process of splash amount with rainfall duration could be formulized by a power function. The splash amount of undisturbed soil was only 22%~30% as much as that of disturbed soil, but the difference of raindrop splash between disturbed soil and undisturbed soil decreased with the increase of rainfall duration.
