more convincingly if the potentially self-centred practice of flânerie had been supplemented by the voices of other visitors to the spaces. Lastly, in the surprisingly brief conclusion, I expected and hoped to read more on the ways in which her method of flânerie might illuminate practical interventions to give rise to alternative urban futures. This would have significantly heightened the political novelty and practical value of the book. Regardless of these minor uncertainties, scholars attending to the field of regeneration for the first time will find this book both accessible and illuminating. Those who have engaged with the topic previously will also be inspired by her media-culture emphasis which opens up a set of new questions worthy of further investigation in the light of ever-accelerating rates of urban transformation across the globe.
