The article explores the response of aggressive and chronic periodontitis to treatment. Patients with generalized aggressive periodontitis can be referred for a complete blood count and either a casual or a fasting blood glucose test. It is considered that standard brushing/flossing instructions are less sufficient for patients with the aggressive disease. Treating this disease starts with scaling and root planing in combination with systemic antibiotics.
