Although certain cutaneous neoplastns ean be readily recognized microscopically as being of sweat gland origin, the preeisc histogenesis of many of these remains enshrouded in eontroversy. In fact, there is not complete unanimity of opinion as to the apocrine or ecerine derivation of sotne of the common sweat gland tumors. Table 1 lists those sweat gland neoplasms the apoerine derivation of whieh is reasonably certain. Table 2 lists those neoplasms, at least some examples of whieh have been suspected of being of apoerine origin, but whose exaet nature remains unresolved. No completely convincing evidenee has emerged as to the apocrinc or eeerine derivation of
