Examples of specific intermolecular interaction (dipole, EDA, steric interactions as well as hydrogen bonds) are discussed in binary mixtures of calamitic, columnar and polymeric systems. It is shown, that on the base of the complete miscibility in the liquid crystalline state a continuous change of the intermolecular interaction is achieved in dependence on the concentration. In this way the properties of the mixtures can be definitively influenced by admixing of a proper second component.
