Drawing on a diverse sample of Cyprian adolescents of non-immigrant, first-generation immigrant, and second-generation immigrant descent, the authors find that the need for affiliation is a stronger correlate of bullying and aggressive behaviors among first-generation than among second-generation immigrants or non-immigrants. In the course of globalization and forced migration, contemporary societies are becoming increasingly diverse. The special issue continues with two studies that investigate precursors of bullying and aggressive behaviors among non-immigrant (Caravita et al., 2021) and immigrant (Solomontos-Kountouri & Strohmeier, 2021) youth. Davis et al.(2021) examine the combined impact of maternal and paternal involvement and neighborhood risk on multiple forms of prosocial behaviors in a longitudinal study among recent immigrant US Latinx adolescents.[Extracted from the article]Copyright of New Directions for Child & Adolescent Development is the property of Wiley-Blackwell and its content may not be copied or emailed to multiple sites or posted to a listserv without the copyright holder's express written permission.
