Microprobe standards for the quantitative determination of U and Th have been prepared from natural minerals and synthetic glasses. The standards have been analysed and found to be homogeneous. Complete analyses of davidite, euxenite—polycrase and uraninite are given together with a modified technique for synthetic glass formation. The ionic compositions of the davidite and euxenite—polycrase are derived from the analyses and compared with the ideal formulae.
