Recent developments in X-ray imaging have resulted in a number of modalities using scanned X-ray beams to expose radiographic film or electronic detector arrays. Among these techniques are those focused on improving scatter rejection by scanning-slit or rotating-wheel techniques. This note outlines a simple variation of the conventional wheel collimator geometry which preserves a constant beam velocity along the length of the scan line and allows a significant reduction in wheel size.
