Hyalophysa Iwoffi sp. n. is described from the shrimp,Palaemonetes paludosus. Its life cycle is like that of other exuviotrophic apostomes.Hyalophysa Iwoffidiffers from the type species,H. chattoni, in the details of its infraciliature and the shape of its macronucleus during the trophont stage. Emended diagnoses of the genus,Hyalophysa, and the species,H. chattoni, also are given.
