however, I felt that in places this was at the expense of an entire area of discussion, e.g. ‘black swan’ theory (p. 36). Each chapter was well supported with a useful summary of key points, the end of the book has a handy ‘final checklist’ (Appendix 1 p. 119) and a ‘suggested basic six item checklist’ (Appendix 2, p. 121) to help the user get started in a meaningful way. The references and further reading section at the back of the book provide references to theories or texts directly referenced in the text and a few ‘investment texts’. On the whole, reading this book gave me a new perspective on potential communication ideas and as a quasi-scientific text that is all I can ask of what is essentially a business book. I do consider the retail price of £17.99 to be a bit steep for what is a short collection of concepts rather than an investment book, but still a good read.
