In recent years, transabdominal ultrasound after oral administration of an echoic cellulose-based agent (a bottle of 500 milliliters of the agent was ingested several minutes before the examination) has been used more and more widely (initial screening for lesions of the stomach and surrounding organs, gastric motility measurement, etc.). To this end, we have proposed the stomach ultrasound report and data system (Su-RADS)(Liu et al. Gastric cancer. 2018; 21: 879–888) and the gastric ultrasonic criteria for the diagnosis of gastric diseases (Liu et al. Ultraschall in Med. 2016; 37: 405–411). The shape of the stomach is irregular, like a sack, and its anatomical shape varies from one person to another. To scan the stomach comprehensively and quickly, it is necessary to have a thorough understanding of the ultrasound section and different anatomical ultrasonic manifestations of the stomach. This article discusses in detail: 1. Standardized gastric ultrasound section scanning and manipulation; 2. Ultrasound finding of different anatomical forms of the stomach; 3. Ultrasound finding of gastric wall layers at various sites in the stomach.
