Isoquinoline-5, 8-hydroquinone has been prepared by three methods, and the oxido-reduction systems from this reductant and from the known quinoline-5, 8-hydroquinone havebeen studied potentiometrically. An analysis is presented of the results obtained in this series of investigations of the degree of aromaticity of various heterocyclic rings.
