I thank Iden and Durner [2014] (hereafter referred to as ID) for their positive and constructive comment on my paper ‘‘Simple consistent models for water retention and hydraulic conductivity in the complete moisture range’’ [Peters, 2013]. In their analysis, they point out that my new models offer great potential in modeling soil water flow, especially in the dry moisture range, which is important for evaporation and root water uptake scenarios. ID also name some shortcomings of the models and suggest improvements to overcome them.
