Here the authors describe the interactions of Cr and Mo atoms with hydrogen molecules in Kr and Ar matrices at 12K. Upon photolysis with UV light both Cr and Mo are found to be photoreactive with H{sub 2}, forming CrH{sub 2}, CrH{sub 3}, and MoH{sub n} (n=1-4). The authors report bond angles and stretching mode constants for the dihydride molecules.
