Professionals should take opportunity to attend camps for children with diabetes to understand better the challenges they face.[E] Several barriers appear to be related to regular discussion of exercise in youth with diabetes. These include insufficient knowledge and education on the part of both patients and providers.[E] Methods to improve the frequency and quality of exercise education in the diabetes clinic should be encouraged.[E] It is important to ensure that all professionals (eg, nurses, diabetes educators, dietitians, physicians) are kept up-to-date with the latest evidence-based guidelines in blood glucose management.[E]
