Dentistrical investigation was conducted on the extraction evidence in both upper and lower jaws of 32 Yayoi people (20 males and 12 females) found in the Hirota Site of Tanegashima island, Kagoshima prefecture. Namely, it was a basic study to estimate whether the extraction evidence had been due to the customs or due to the natural causes. The results obtained were as follows. 1. In Hirota Yayoi people the congenital tooth missing, traurna and the missing of anterior teeth caused by dental disease were rare.
