The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among perceived sibling use of relational communication dimensions (i.e., immediacy, similarity, receptivity, composure, formality, dominance, equality, task orientation) and sibling communication satisfaction, liking, and loving. Participants were 303 individuals who reported on a recent interaction with a sibling. Results indicated that (a) sibling communication satisfaction is predicted by the relational communication dimensions of equality, receptivity, immediacy, similarity, and composure, (b) sibling liking is predicted by the relational communication dimensions of composure, equality, similarity, and receptivity, (c) sibling loving is predicted by the relational communication dimensions of equality, similarity, receptivity, and formality, and (d) sibling communication satisfaction is positively correlated with sibling liking and loving.
