The strain Rhodococcus erythropolis 14F, isolated from soil contaminated by o-phthalic acid esters, was used to promote the degradation of dimethylphtalate (DMP) in soil. The effect of soil purification from the most toxic o-phthalate DMP in concentration 1% is assessed as 50% during 28 days. The immobilization of rhodococcus cells in peat substrate enhances the effect of purification up to 75%.
