MATERIALS AND METHODSSubjects.—Sixty-four normal men in age groups from 20 to 87 years were selected from students, employees, and former employees of Marquette University and from employees, Domiciliary members, and service volunteers of the Veterans Administration Center, Wood, Wisconsin. Each of the Ss was asymptomatic and had normal strength and range of motion. Each S over 65 years was given a neurological examination and none showed evidence of neurological deficits with the exception of diminished or absent vibratory sensation of the lower limbs. Table 1 shows the distribution of age, height, and weight of the Ss selected for study.
