Using the method of neutron activation, samples of skeletal muscle from 10 patients with progressive muscular dystrophy, 7 with miscellaneous muscular disorders and 9 control patients were analysed for sodium, potassium, and phosphorus. The content of potassium per g. of non-collagen nitrogen was lower and the content of sodium higher in the dystrophic patients than in the controls.
