This new Dutch Etymological Dictionary traces the meaning of over 14,000 Dutch words back to their origin and development. Based on the latest research conducted for this publication, the dictionary is the new standard for Dutch linguistic studies. This first volume covers the letters A-E. The whole series will comprise four volumes to be published between 2003 and 2009. Besides a print version, the Dutch Etymological Dictionary is also available online:www.etymologie.nl.
