A new alkaloid, juliprosopine, was isolated from P. juliflora A. Dc. (Leguminosae), for which its structure is proposed. The piperidine moiety could be elucidated by (mass spectroscopy, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR) of juliprosopine. Juliprosopine was built up in nature by 2 monomeric Prosopis alkaloids and 1 dihydropyrrol unit.
