The article discusses the presence of Splenic mycobacteriosis in an Atlantic guitarfish Rhinobatos lentiginosus Garman. It highlights the zootonic potentials of many Mycobacterium species with regards to human health concerns. An overview of the study using an approximately 2-year-old female Atlantic Guitarfish collected from the coastal waters off North Carolina that emphasized the presence of numerous granulomas throughout the spleen is also presented.
