A recurrent subcutaneous tumour of the thumb: a case of a capicua transcriptional repressor (CIC)-rearranged sarcoma Capicua transcriptional repressor (I CIC i)-rearranged sarcomas are a subgroup of undifferentiated round cell sarcomas characterized by rearrangement of the I CIC i gene, which is located on chromosome 19q13. 2.[1] The most common fusion partner is the I DUX4 i gene on chromosome 4q35. 2 or 10q26. 3.[2] Recent reports support the classification of I CIC i-rearranged tumours as independent nosologic entities associated with a predilection for somatic soft tissue rather than for bone and a more rapid disease progression than Ewing sarcoma.[[3]] Here, we report the first case of a I CIC i-rearranged sarcoma of the digit with a less aggressive clinical course. The histological differential diagnoses included synovial sarcoma, Ewing sarcoma and Ewing-like sarcoma.[Extracted from the article]
