The tuning characteristics of the /sup 5/I/sub 6/-/sup 5/I/sub 7/ transition in a Ho:YAlO/sub 3 /laser, intracavity pumped by a 1.079 mu m Nd:YalO/sub 3/ laser, were studied. Operation on seven distinct lines between 2.844 and 3.017 mu m was found, and the threshold and relative slope efficiency of each line was measured. Several of these lines were previously unreported. >
