The Horoman ultramafic massif which is situated at the southwestern end of the Hidaka metamorphic belt crops out over approximately 8•~10km. The massif is representative of "Alpine-type" peridotite intrusions with conspicuous layered struct ure. Characteristic features of the massif are the mylonitic and recrystallized tex tures. Subsequent to the study of megascopic structure (Niida, 1974), this paper describes the textures and olivine fabrics of the Horoman massif which are related to de formation, recrystallization, and cataclasis in the ultramafic rocks.
