The first manganese derivative of the donor-stabilized bis(silylene) complex (OC) 4 Mn{SiMe 2 ...O(Me)... SiMe 2 } has been synthesized by the photolysis of (OC) 5 MnSiMe 2 SiMe 2 SiMe 2 OMe. The X-ray structure analysis of this complex revealed its distorted-octahedral structure with two short Mn-Si bonds and a planar MnSi 2 O chelate ring
