The incidence of left-handedness (L) is the same in MZ (monozygotic) human twins, DZ (dizygotic) twins and singletons. The proportions of R-R, R-L and L-L (R, right-handedness) pairs in MZ twins are not in a binomial distribution. Twins were not subject to any special factors modifying their handedness and are thus suitable for genetic analysis.
