ConclusionThe present work has shown that phase response curves with HBr02 as perturbant can be modeled with Oregonator-type models that include Br2 as a kinetic active species. Models that lack Br2 as a component, like the original Oregonator7 8 or the Showalter, Noyes, Bar-Eli model, 14 are not able to model experimentally observed positive phase shifts in the beginning of the cycle. We therefore conclude that bromine as an active kinetic component appears essential to modelcertain details in the dynamics of the Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction.Acknowledgment.
