The author considers the problem of determining the singular values and vectors of the class of Hankel operators whose symbol can be written in the form phi *W, where phi is inner and W is rational. He obtains a new and simplified proof of the fact that the zeros of a certain determinantal expression coincide with the Hankel singular values.
