The article presents several functions of B cells in relation to periodontitis. It also describes the different subtypes of B cells and its role in various aspects including presentation, autoimmune reactions and tissue destruction. Research study reveals that B cells have several critical roles in periodontitis including its ability to express class II antigens. However, it requires further interpretation for the understanding of the complex mechanisms concerning the progression of the disease.
