2016年8月在榕江县开展翼手目物种多样性调查时，在一废弃矿洞内捕获了4只未知管鼻蝠（1雄3雌）。这些标本从形态学、形态测量学和遗传学上进行了描述，它不同于以前描述的管鼻蝠属物种。CO1基因和Cytb基因两个基因标记的分析支持基于分歧的系统发育谱系的有效种状态。该种在形态上与水埔管鼻蝠和梵净山管鼻蝠相似性较高，但在头骨形态和系统发育关系上存在明显差异。该种为管鼻蝠属一新种，命名为榕江管鼻蝠Murinarongjiangensissp.nov.
Four unknown specimens of Murina bat (one male and three female) were captured in an abandoned mine cave during the investigation on Chiroptera species diversity at the Rongjiang county on August, 2016. These specimens were described from morphologically, morphometrically, and genetically, and it differs from previously described species of Murina. Analysis of two gene markers of CO1 gene and Cytb gene supports valid species status based on divergent phylogenetic lineages. This species has a higher similarity with Murina shuipuensis and Murina fanjingshanensis in morphology, however, there are obvious difference in skull morphlogy and phylogenetic relationship among these three species. It is a new species of Murina, and named Murina rongjiangensis sp.nov.
