Canada lhe dictionary defines vade mecum as a useful thing a person constantly carries with him and as a guidebook for ready reference. lhis book satisfies the second meaning admirably, especially at its price of $25 ($20 for members of AIP). As the publisher claims this book is organized to make data available with minimal searching. It is a compact storehouse of formulas, data, definitions, and references indexed by discipline. Basic mathematical and physics formulas are Included. lhis book isthe outcome of e major effort leading to a selection of 22 major subjects (broadly representative of fielde physicists ace supposed to know something about) for this guidebook. Each section includes most useful information, formulas, numerical data, definitions and key references. A general section is added to include fundamental constants, SI units, canversion factors, basic formulas and even s list of basic physics centers.
