The article presents a case study on a 25-year old man with history of ketamine misuse who was treated at the Specialist Substance Misuse Services. He has been using ketamine by snorting the liquid for six years with daily dose of 1-7 grams per day and using alcohol to minimize the effects of ketamine withdrawal for 4 years. He described some of the symptoms of intoxication and behavioral effects upon cessation. The patient was diagnosed with ketamine dependence syndrome not alcohol missuse. After which, he received detoxification using a reducing dose of diazepam for 3 days to minimize withdrawal symptoms.
