MATERIALS and METHODSThe strains of the silkworm, Bombyx mori, used in the present study are Twl (white egg, plain silkworm;+ re/+ re, w2/w2, p/p) and re9 (red egg, striped silkworm; re/re,+ w2/+ w2, PS/PS) F1 eggs of the cross Tw1 x re9 show normal color (black).
