L'effetto è introdotto Tramite l'autoenergia dei mesoni vettoriali。
SummaryIn this paper we study the effect of broken symmetry on the mass of vector mesons which are coupled to conserved currents. The effect is introduced through the self-energy of the vector mesons. For the case of compact Lie groups, one finds that the vector mesons which acquire mass are those coupled to conserved currents outside the torus of the group. The case of pseudovectors coupled to axial currents is treated analogously. A possible explanation of the approximate degeneracy of the ρ and ω mesons in offered on the basis of this approach. Finally, the relation between our work and the recent work ofLee and independently ofLévy, on the construction of conserved currents, is pointed out.
