A device is designed to increase the coding rate when coding/decoding speech signals in controlled language by employment of the sieve of Eratosthenes. It can be attached to a computer to set up an adjustable sieve function to sieve process speech signals. Consequently, the compressed coding is obtained under the control of sieve pore. Then, with the adjustable sieve pore anti-sieve function, the decoding is made possible to the speech signals, which have been sieve-processed to the compression coding. A comparative analysis to the effectiveness of different sieve pores through speech wave, frequency spectrum and audio test is conducted. The experimental analysis indicates that when the sound can be distinguished, the compression ratio obtained by Eratosthenespsila sieve method could be 64 times more than that of the traditional pulse code modulation (PCM) coding method.
