Microstructures and mechanical properties of equal-channel angular pressed low carbon steel

The commercial 0.15% C steel was subjected to a strain of∼ 4 by utilizing equal-channel angular pressing of four passes with route C. The careful microstructural examination revealed that, under the present equal-channel angular pressing conditions, grain refinement was the most significant at the first pass. The subsequent passes also resulted in considerable grain refinement showing the final grain size of about 0.3 μm. In addition, a portion of high angle boundary increased progressively with
