Geopolymer foam materials could function as adsorbents for cesium ions. Geopolymer foams showing cesium adsorption were prepared by condensing a mixture of metakaolin and alkali solution at 100 degrees C in the presence of silica from rice husk powder, and they showed effective adsorption of cesium.
