MethodsAdult Swiss male white mice weighing approximately 25 gm. were fasted for 18 hours. Except where otherwise indicated, they were then offered Purina chow and dextrose, and 30 minutes later they were injected intraperitoneally with 0.5 to 1.0 ml. of water containing the C4-labeled substrate being studied.
