Materials and Methods. Polymers of GE type A (approximately 220 Bloom, viscosity 4.8 mPa· s), extracted from porcine skin by acidic process, were purchased from Sanhesheng Gelatin (Wenzhou, China). YCl3, double-distilled water, and ethanol were obtained from Beijing Chem.(Beijing, China). N-Hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) was obtained from Sigma. 1-Ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide (EDC) powder and diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid dianhydride (DTPA) were purchased from Fluka. Cefradine (CE) was obtained from the General Pharmaceutical Factory of Harbin (Harbin, China). All materials were used without further purification. Fabrication of GE Membranes. GE nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning a 15%(w/v) GE solution in the blend solvents of water and ethanol, where the volume ratio is 9/1. The temperatures of all electrospinning solutions, spinneret, and the environment were controlled at 40 (3 C. Nanofibers were collected on a target drum that was placed at a distance of 15 cm from the syringe tip (inner diameter 0.3 mm). A voltage of 22 kV was applied to the collecting target by a high voltage power supply, and the flow rate of the solution was 50 μL/min. The nanofibers were dried in a vacuum for 24 h at room temperature to remove the remaining solvent.
