The genus Sphagnum is reported for the first time from the Tertiary in Baltic amber (45 ma). Additionally Campylopodiella himalayana and Symphyodon sp. are reported from Baltic as well as specimens of Trichosteleum sp. and Mniomalia sp. from Dominican amber.
