The key of food security is to produce enough food for all the population.The grain production capacity of a country depends on cultivated land quantity and productivity of the farmland in unit area.Rational applications of soil fertilizers play an important role in increasing grain yield and ensuring food security in China.Unreasonable applications of fertilizers bring forth negative influence,and there exist some problems in the organic fertilizers.Suggestions for the development of soil fertilizers in the future are put forward.
