Last year, the immunologic aspects of myositis were reviewed, covering the mechanisms of immune-mediated muscle injury, the significance of the myositis-associated autoantibodies, and evidence regarding possible etiologic factors such as viruses [1]. Here, recent progress in these areas is reviewed.
